Our Shared History

Every month on the second Wednesday the folks of Laurel Presbyterian Church gather together for dinner. These Wednesday Night Suppers are times for good food and good conversation and are almost always informal. Normally we ask for the folks who come to bring something, either a dish for a potluck or some money to offset the cost of food.

This month on May 11 we will have our Wednesday Night Supper. But if you come, you do not need to bring a dish to pass nor do you need to bring money to gain admittance. Instead we are asking you to bring your stories.

What stories do you have to share about Laurel, or about the communities of Glen Allen and Laurel? We’re going to be putting together a timeline of events in the life of Laurel Presbyterian and our surrounding community. This is meant to be a shared history of the church, so we need as many there as possible to add their stories. Whether you have come for only a few months or been a member for decades your stories are important and need to be heard. And if you have never been, you are still invited to come, listen, and see if this is a community you want to be a part of.

This special Wednesday Night Supper is happening May 11 at 6 pm in the church fellowship hall. We’ll be serving lasagna with salad, bread, and dessert. If you’re coming let us know so we can prepare the proper amount of food – send us an e-mail to RSVP.

See you there!
