A free Bible and a chance to win prizes were all part of the fun at Laurel’s booth at Glen Allen Day, Saturday, September 20. Our second year at G.A. Day brought an expanded booth area and more volunteers. A donation of almost 100 paperback Bibles permitted us to give them away, and over 50 are now in the hands of those who desire them. Howard Lawrence created a toss game that attracted scores of young people and their families. Our “Blessing of the Animals” display and our “never empty” water bowl became a favorite place for thirsty canines and their owners. Also this year, we wore “Holy Spirit red” Laurel Dove logo t-shirts. Other congregations were also represented, but few could match the enthusiasm and hospitable welcome of our volunteers. Many thanks to those who set up and took down our both and to the volunteers who greeted folks 9:30 am – 3:00 pm. We look forward to next year’s Glen Allen Day and another chance to greet our neighbors! Look for other photos in on the photo gallery page.
