On the second Sunday of each month at Laurel Church, every member of the worshipping congregation gets a chance to be the preacher! That’s the one Sunday a month when Pastor Mark steps back from his pulpit and invites open discussion about the Bible text of the day. There are no dumb responses or questions, only examples of the Holy Spirit inspiring men and women, boys and girls to share their feelings about what the Bible might be saying.
On this coming Sunday, February 11, we’re looking at the story of Jesus’ healing of “The Man Born Blind” from John 9:1-41. First comes a man regaining his sight, and then the aftermath that reveals a certain amount of “blindness” among the religious leaders. The story comes today as a mirror to remind us of ways in which we may also miss the grace of God working in our midst. Attached is a study sheet which can help to prepare you for the morning. A paper copy will also be distributed in worship.
Join us, and let’s see what the Holy Spirit may be chomping at the bit to say through you!
