SINGSPIRATION PROVES INSPIRING! On Sunday, November 4, Laurel hosted the choirs of Lakeside Methodist and Skipwith Baptist Churches in a choral extravaganza of inspiring and delightful music. The sanctuary was filled almost to capacity with an enthusiastic crowd that not only liked to listen to great singing but enjoyed singing robustly to the several hymns we sang as a congregation. The three choirs led, respectively by David Clatterbuck (Laurel), Rick Tinsley (Skipwith Baptist) and Jeanne Bluford (Lakeside Methodist) each sang three of their favorite anthems and then joined together in a chorus of “Here I am, Lord” led by David. Pastor Mark led the congregational singing and gave the concluding benediction. The choral event was followed by a lovely reception in the Fellowship Hall with delicious foods and spectacular decorations by Mary Jane Bowlin. Our thanks to David for his orchestration of the event and to our choir members and friends for staging this wonderful community gathering.
