Love is the at the heart of our faith community at Laurel.
Worship … As with many Presbyterian churches, at Laurel the rhythm of our worship service each week consists of similar elements: we open with gratitude, then acknowledge our need for grace and to start again, we hear God’s Word read and proclaimed, we respond to the Word read and proclaimed by affirming our faith, we make our prayer requests to God known, and we close with both a charge and a blessing.
The elements are grouped under these headings: Gathering Around Love, Receiving Love, Proclaiming Love, Responding in Love, and Bearing Love Into the World.
Contemplative, joy filled, grounded … It is an ancient formula but designed to speak freshly to the needs of God’s people today, featuring robust music that undergirds all of our worship. Come dressed casually and know you are welcomed here.
Children of all ages welcome… Children and youth are invited to be part of our worshipping congregation. We offer nursery care for infants and toddlers, if the parents choose. Children age 4-10 may take part in Children’s Church, leaving the worship service after the children’s message to engage in worship and learning guided by adult leaders in a setting more appropriate for their age and interests.
The Lord’s Supper… We celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper each month, which in other traditions is also known as Holy Communion and the Eucharist. All are welcomed at the Table.
Every Sunday… We worship every Sunday at 10:00 am and the service usually lasts an hour. (Right now we are worshipping virtually. and all of our bulletins and services are found on our “Services” page.)
Other times… Special times of worship include Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, a Good Friday Impact Experience, Easter, Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve.
We invite you to grow in your discovery of God’s image and likeness alongside of all of us at Laurel. We look forward to worshipping with you.
Love Known Here.
