“Knowing and loving our neighbors as Christ loves us
and together discovering abundant life in him.”
On the last Sunday in September, the Laurel congregation invited the community to join us in worship outdoors. It was a lovely morning of song, praise, thanksgiving, reflecting on God’s Word and enjoying the gift of one another. It even included a bagpiper as a sign of our Scottish Presbyterian heritage.
The opportunity for al fresco worship was the product of a new program at the church where we seek “to do something totally new and different” in worship on the four “fifth” Sundays during the year. This particular event points to the importance of worship for us, a desire to reach out to our community and an openness to try new things.
If those qualities appeal to you, we invite you to join us sometime for worship or a class or a social gathering or joining us in mission. Laurel represents a congregation of individuals and families seeking a closer relationship with God and God’s grace and help in daily living. Ours is a dynamic faith that welcomes questions and recognizes that sometimes we doubt. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we seek together to work out the Lord’s will for us in our lives — at church, at work, at school, at home and at play. If we can assist you in your search for hope, healing and purpose in life, please drop by or give us a call!
