“Knowing and loving our neighbors as Christ loves us
and together discovering abundant life in him.”

HE IS RISEN INDEED! The Lord blessed us with great spirit and numbers on Easter as we hosted worship services at 7:00 and 10:00 am. Here are some photos from the sunrise service where ministers from Biltmore Baptist, Glen Allen Baptist, Hunton Baptist and Laurel Park & Greenwood Methodist joined Pastor Mark in leading worship. Thanks to all the Laurel folk who set up and cleaned up at both the sunrise service and the following continental breakfast (we had enough food for a great reception after the later service!) with special kudos to Sheryl Salmon who played an inspiring keyboard at the sunrise service and Duane Berger who organized the sound system and also took some lovely photos.

We had a joyful service of worship at 10:00 am as well with the “flowering” cross and three stirring anthems from our choir under David’s leadership. Pastor Mark delivered a provocative message with slides entitled, “Woke,” urging believers to live changed lives that will be a witness to the younger generation. The service concluded with the spirited hymn, “I Danced in the Morning,” about the dance host who is “the life that will never, never die.” Even a brief description of the morning isn’t complete, however, without mention of the fun-filled annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Michael Henderson and friends.

In our worship and in life, Laurel members cherish the fact that ours is a dynamic faith that welcomes questions and recognizes that sometimes we doubt.  Guided by the Holy Spirit, we seek together to work out the Lord’s will for us in our lives — at church, at work, at home and at play.  If we can assist you in your search for hope, healing and purpose in life, please join us!

We usually meet for worship at 10:00 am on Sunday with engaging adult classes beginning at 8:45 am. Please check out other pages on this website to learn more about opportunities at Laurel Church.
