Small Groups and Fellowships

Beloved: Our small group, Beloved meets at 1 and 3 pm as we continue growing in love. We follow different authors to learn new perspectives on life and ways to show love and kindness toward one another.  Reverend Ann Cherry is our facilitator.

Laurel Annual Church Picnic: Each year, typically in the fall, we gather together for a picnic and fellowship at a members home or at a park. It’s a great time!

Lingerings: On the second Sunday of the month after church we meet for coffee, lemonade and a light snack to mingle with friends and catch up with each other.

Lunch Bunch: Once a month, we get together and go out to lunch to a local restaurant. All are welcome. We typically meet on a Friday at 11:30am, however that day may change at times Information is in the weekly bulletin or our monthly newsletter. Please contact Mary Scearce or Margaret Fitch if you are interested in joining us.

Supper Club: Spurred by a discussion in the Beloved Group, we began the Laurel Supper Club. We gather at 3:00pm to cook a meal, play games, read newspapers, and eat together. We are usually cleaned up and home by 5:30pm. Since supper time can be a hard part of the day especially for those of us living alone—we will be gathering once a month to make something together and do it in the daylight hours so we can be home by dark.  Please contact Reverend Ann Cherry or Susan Dameron if you are interested.

Women’s Circle: Our Women’s Bible Study group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00am in the Fellowship hall. We continue our study in the Let Justice Roll Down Study Book. Beverley Shepherd and Rebecca Owen are our teachers and Carolyn Stinger is our convener. Monthly Circle meetings are a wonderful opportunity to fellowship as we study God’s word together.
